I am not quite sure what I am more excited about right now. Is it that the movie 300 is coming on DVD tomorrow or is that we just added a whole arrangement of flintlock pistols to our armory... Ya know what? It doesn't matter because we can have the best of both worlds!

Many people looking for swords online have a hard time deciding on what to actually buy. The problem is that there are really nice carbon steel, full tang swords and then there are stainless steel swords that are not full tang and at a fraction of the price. So which sword do you buy?
The easiest way to answer this question is to first ask yourself what you are going to be using it for. Honestly, the answer to all your questions start with this answer. If you are merely purchasing a sword for display purposes only, then a cheap sword with a stainless steel blade is perfect. Sure, I suspect you will grab it off the stand or wall plaque occassionally and swing it around the room and maybe play fight with your friends for about 30 seconds making "sword" sounds like you did when you were a kid but more or less, its gonna sit in its display and look good and when your buds come over, its a great conversation piece. The difference in which sword to buy in this situation is purely the buyers disgreation. It really only comes down to your own personal taste as either option (real or replica) is a perfect fit. The only factor here is that typically a real sword is made from carbon steel which can and will rust if you do not take care of it. Basically this means you need to wipe it down after you handle it and you need to oil it a few times per year. You can read our article on how to clean a sword for more information. A stainless steel blade will not rust but it will get fingerprints so you still need to wipe it down but if you don't, at least it won't rust. If you are going to be using your sword for a Rennaissance Faire costume or reenactment or perhaps stage use, then you definately want to spend a few extra bucks and buy yourself a carbon steel or "battle ready" sword. The carbon steel is much stronger and able to withstand the clashing with another sword or object. It also comes much sharper than a replica sword which only has a false edge at best. Both options are really great because there are some really super stainless steel pieces on the market but if you are looking for something with a little more muscle, a sharper edge and can take a beating, then look for a carbon steel sword but understand you gotta take care of it.  I have to admit, that I love my job and my business. The day starts at 8am and usually ends about 10pm, 6 days a week, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.  The 4th of July is celebrated each year as being the official split from Britain and the beginning of the American Revolution. Basically the 13 colonies were forced to pay taxes to England but had no representation in Parliment. As this became more of an issue, the revolution became stronger and stronger dispite King George III's attempts to send British troops to calm the storm. This was where we got "Taxation without representation!". The original resolution was introduced by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia on June 7, 1776, and called for the Continental Congress to declare the United States free from British rule. On June 11, 1776, the colonies Second Continental Congress, met in Philadelphia and formed a committee with the express purpose of drafting a document that would remove themselves officially and forever from Great Britain. Committee members includes some of the most well known men of the USA. Gentlemen such as Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and many others. Jefferson, considered the better writer of the group was tasked with writing the Declaration of Independence. The adoption of this document was signed by the committee on July 4th, 1776. One year later, on July 4, 1777, Philadelphia marked Independence Day by adjourning Congress and celebrating with bonfires, bells and fireworks. The custom eventually spread to other towns both large and small, where the day was marked with processions, oratory, picnics, contests, games, military displays and fireworks. Observations throughout the nation became even more common at the end of the War of 1812 with Great Britain.
